Job summary

InterContinental Wellington is seeking a Duty Engineer to join our frontline maintenance team in the heart of Wellington. You will assist the Maintenance team with general hotel and building minor maintenance, ensuring work meets high standards that satisfy guests and colleagues.

You will carry out scheduled inspections, perform minor repairs, respond to daily requests, investigate faults, and help keep the property running smoothly while rotating shifts, including weekends.

Qualifications

• General maintenance experience required.
• Strong problem solving and organizational abilities.
• Excellent communication and guest relations skills.
• Flexible availability for rotating shifts, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled inspections.
• Perform general building minor maintenance repairs.
• Respond to requests from hotel departments throughout the day.

Your Role

Assist the Maintenance team with general hotel and building minor maintenance and ensure that work is completed to a high standard that aligns with the expectations and satisfaction of our customers.

• Carry out scheduled inspections
• General building minor maintenance repairs
• Respond to requests from departments throughout the day
• General building maintenance & repairs
• Investigate equipment for faults

What You'll Need

• General maintenance experience
• Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities
• Strong communication skills! You will be building working relationships with people across the hotel team and interacting with guests
• Flexibility - you are required to be available for rotating shifts, including weekends.
