Job summary

InterContinental Wellington is seeking a Duty Engineer to join our maintenance team in Wellington. You will assist with general hotel and building minor maintenance, ensuring work meets high standards and aligns with guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities include scheduled inspections, minor repairs, and responding to department requests. You will interact with guests and hotel staff, and participate in rotating shifts, including weekends.

Qualifications

• General maintenance experience required.
• Strong problem solving and communication abilities.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including weekends.

Your Role

Assist the Maintenance team with general hotel and building minor maintenance and ensure that work is completed to a high standard that aligns with the expectations and satisfaction of our customers.

• Carry out scheduled inspections
• General building minor maintenance repairs
• Respond to requests from departments throughout the day
• General building maintenance & repairs

What You'll Need

• General maintenance experience
• Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities
• Strong communication skills! You will be building working relationships with people across the hotel team and interacting with guests
• Flexibility - you are required to be available for rotating shifts, including weekends.
