Job summary

InterContinental Wellington is seeking a Duty Engineer to join our maintenance team in Wellington. You will support the hotel with routine upkeep, inspections, and minor repairs to ensure high standards and guest satisfaction.

Ideal candidates bring general maintenance experience, strong problem solving, and excellent communication skills, with flexibility for rotating shifts including weekends. Full training and hotel perks are provided.

InterContinental Wellington is looking for a Duty Engineer to join our team.

Your Role

Assist the Maintenance team with general hotel and building minor maintenance and ensure that work is completed to a high standard that aligns with the expectations and satisfaction of our customers.

• Carry out scheduled inspections
• General building minor maintenance repairs
• Respond to requests from departments throughout the day
• General building maintenance & repairs
• Investigate equipment for faults

What You'll Need

• General maintenance experience
• Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities
• Strong communication skills! You will be building working relationships with people across the hotel team and interacting with guests
• Flexibility - you are required to be available for rotating shifts, including weekends.
