Foodstuffs South Island Limited in Queenstown is seeking a Dry Goods Supervisor to lead a team, ensure accurate receiving of orders, and maintain merchan-dising standards. The role requires forklift operation, First Aid, and relevant supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• NZ Register Level 2/3 qualification or at least one year supervising/leading staff.
• Previous experience supervising and/or leading staff.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a diverse team to achieve merchandising standards and staff development.
• Coordinate communication across multiple levels to ensure efficient operations and stock movements.
• Oversee inwards goods, storeroom, retail filling and fuel site processes.
• Unloading freight and receipting orders into the business.
• Move stock throughout the business using forklifts and manual handling.
• Promote food safety and health and safety procedures throughout the supermarket.

This full-time (45 hours per week) position is a great opportunity for an experienced team leader or supervisor who excels at motivating people, enjoys working across multiple areas and shows excellent attention to detail. Reporting to the Dry Goods and Operations Managers, the Supervisor is responsible for the combined control of our team to ensure all orders are accurately received into store and our shelves are filled and merchandised to prescribed standards.

The successful candidate will:

• Be required to hold or obtain a valid Forklift License and First Aid Certificate
• Have NZ Register Level 2 or 3 qualification or at least one year of experience supervising and/or leading staff
• Have previous experience supervising and/or leading staff
• Be physically fit and able to repeatedly lift heavy items (up to 15kg)
• Be available to work Friday to Tuesday from 4.30am to 2.00pm, Wed Thurs off.

Key responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Effectively supervising a diverse team to achieve retail merchandising standards, including overseeing staff training and development
• Communicating with personnel across multiple levels of the business to ensure efficient operations and stock movements
• Coordinating inwards goods, storeroom, retail filling and fuel site processes
• Unloading freight and receipting orders into the business
• Moving stock throughout the business including using forklifts and manual handling work
• Complying with and actively promoting food safety and health and safety procedures throughout the supermarket
