Job summary

Foodstuffs South Island Limited is seeking a Dry Goods Team Leader for the New World Ashburton store. This part-time position requires leading a small team, ensuring shelves are stocked, and delivering exceptional customer service during early morning hours.

You will work Sunday to Thursday, 5:00am–9:00am (20hrs/week), alongside the Grocery Manager to maintain safety, compliance and high presentation standards. A positive work ethic and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership or supervisory experience.
• Retail, supermarket, or customer service experience preferred.
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
• Good attention to detail and high presentation standards.
• Reliable and dependable team player.
• Physically fit and able to handle the demands of the role.
• Flexibility to work additional hours if required.
• A forklift licence with F Endorsement or a Full NZ Driver Licence with endorsement is preferred.

Are you reliable, hardworking, and enjoy working in a fast-paced team environment? We are looking for a Dry Goods Team Leader to join our Grocery team.

As a Team Leader, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day success of our store. You'll lead by example, supporting and motivating your team to deliver exceptional customer service, maintain high presentation standards, and ensure shelves are well stocked and operations run smoothly. Working alongside the Grocery Manager, you'll help create a positive team culture while keeping safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction at the heart of everything you do.

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven leadership or supervisory experience.
• Previous retail, supermarket, or customer service experience is preferred but not essential.
• A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• The ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
• Good attention to detail and a commitment to high presentation standards.
• A reliable and dependable team player.
• Physically fit and capable of handling the demands of the role.
• Flexibility to work additional hours if required
• A current forklift licence with F Endorsement, or a Full New Zealand Driver Licence with the ability to obtain the required endorsement.
