Job summary

WM New Zealand is seeking a reliable Operator in Timaru to drive a variety of vehicles, ensuring safe and timely collections across Timaru and surrounding areas.

You’ll log accurate records, perform safety checks, and sustain high health and safety standards while working as part of a collaborative team. On‑the‑job training supports progression from Class 2 to Class 4 licences and a stable, rewarding career path.

Qualifications

• Class 2 or Class 4 NZ driver’s licence
• Wheels, Tracks and Rollers endorsement is a bonus
• Previous driving experience is beneficial but not essential
• Adaptable to varied tasks
• Strong focus on health and safety
• Committed to providing excellent customer service
• A collaborative team player
• Willingness to learn and take on new skills

Responsibilities

• Drive a range of vehicles with modern onboard tech to collect across Timaru and surrounds
• Complete accurate logbook entries and digital vehicle safety checks

Job Description

As an Operator, you’ll be responsible for driving a range of vehicles equipped with the latest onboard technology to ensure safe and timely collections across Timaru and surrounding areas. You’ll complete accurate logbook entries and digital vehicle safety checks while maintaining high standards of health and safety.

Operations may include Frontload, skip and rear-load trucks, so a good level of physical fitness is important. You’ll also play an active role in supporting our strong safety culture and teamwork values.

With a variety of vehicles and opportunities to learn, this is a great role for someone looking to build their driving experience and progress their licence classes. Our experienced team will support you with training and development on the job.

Qualifications

We’re looking for reliable, adaptable people who are keen to learn and develop their skills. Whether you have a Class 2 licence and want to step up, or already hold your Class 4, we encourage you to apply.
