Job summary

WM New Zealand is seeking a driver to join our Timaru team. You’ll operate different trucks with contemporary onboard tech to support local waste services across Timaru and surrounding areas. A Class 4 licence is preferred, but experienced Class 2 drivers are welcome to step up.

You’ll log vehicle data, perform safety checks, and contribute to our safety culture and reliable service. We offer guaranteed hours, ongoing training, and a supportive, family-friendly workplace with the latest truck

Qualifications

• You are customer-focused, reliable, and adaptable.
• You enjoy working both independently and as part of a team, and you’re open to learning new skills and ongoing training.
• Class 4 NZ driver’s licence (or experienced Class 2 driver ready to step up) with endorsement desirable.
• Wheels, Tracks, and Rollers endorsement desirable.
• Adaptable to varied tasks - no two days are the same.
• Strong focus on health and safety.

Job Description

As an Operator, you’ll be responsible for driving a range of vehicles equipped with the latest onboard technology to ensure safe and timely collections across Timaru and surrounding areas. You’ll complete accurate logbook entries and digital vehicle safety checks while maintaining high standards of health and safety.

Operations may include Frontload, skip and rear-load trucks, so a good level of physical fitness is important. You’ll also play an active role in supporting our strong safety culture and teamwork values.
