Job summary

WM New Zealand is seeking an Operator to drive a range of vehicles with onboard technology, delivering safe and timely waste collections across Timaru and surrounding areas.

You will complete logbooks and digital safety checks, support a strong safety culture, and participate in on-the-job training to progress licence classes while contributing to reliable customer service and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Valid NZ Class 2 or Class 4 driver licence.
• Wheels, Tracks, and Rollers endorsement is a bonus but not essential.
• Previous driving experience is beneficial, training provided.

Responsibilities

• Drive a range of vehicles (frontload, skip, rear-load) for Timaru and surrounds.
• Complete logbooks and on-vehicle safety checks.
• Support health, safety and teamwork culture on site.

Job description

As an Operator, you'll be responsible for driving a range of vehicles equipped with the latest onboard technology to ensure safe and timely collections across Timaru and surrounding areas. You'll complete accurate logbook entries and digital vehicle safety checks while maintaining high standards of health and safety. Operations may include Frontload, skip and rear-load trucks, so a good level of physical fitness is important. You'll also play an active role in supporting our strong safety culture and teamwork values. With a variety of vehicles and opportunities to learn, this is a great role for someone looking to build their driving experience and progress their licence classes. Our experienced team will support you with training and development on the job.

Requirements

• Class 2 or Class 4 New Zealand driver's licence
• Wheels, Tracks, and Rollers endorsement is a bonus, but not essential
