Job summary

WM New Zealand in Timaru is seeking drivers to join our multisystem fleet, with opportunities for two vacancies for Class 2 or Class 4. On-the-job training will help you build experience across a range of trucks and tasks.

You’ll complete logbooks and safety checks, work as part of a team, and enjoy guaranteed hours as you progress from Class 2 to Class 4 while contributing to essential local waste services.

Job Description

As an Operator, you’ll be responsible for driving a range of vehicles equipped with the latest onboard technology to ensure safe and timely collections across Timaru and surrounding areas. You’ll complete accurate logbook entries and digital vehicle safety checks while maintaining high standards of health and safety.

Operations may include Frontload, skip and rear-load trucks, so a good level of physical fitness is important. You’ll also play an active role in supporting our strong safety culture and teamwork values.

With a variety of vehicles and opportunities to learn, this is a great role for someone looking to build their driving experience and progress their licence classes. Our experienced team will support you with training and development on the job.

Qualifications

We’re looking for reliable, adaptable people who are keen to learn and develop their skills. Whether you have a Class 2 licence and want to step up, or already hold your Class 4, we encourage you to apply.

• Class 2 or Class 4 New Zealand driver’s licence
• Wheels, Tracks, and Rollers endorsement is a bonus, but not essential
• Previous driving experience is beneficial, but not essential, we’re happy to train the right person
