Job summary

Downer Wellington is growing, and we're looking for motivated Driver Operators to join our high-performing team. You’ll operate Class 2 or Class 4/5 machinery and support a variety of maintenance, renewal, and construction projects across the Wellington region.

• Class 2 or Class 4/5 Licence held and current.
• 3+ years of relevant experience operating asphalt pavers, rollers or skidsteers in road construction or surfacing.
• Strong focus on safety, vehicle inspections and on-site positioning.

Responsibilities

• Operate machinery and transport materials across Wellington region.
• Support maintenance, renewal and construction projects with the team.
• Assist crews on-site and ensure safe, efficient operations.

You’ll play a key role supporting a variety of maintenance, renewal, and construction projects across the Wellington region. No two days are the same - one day you could be operating machinery and transporting materials, and the next you could be supporting crews on-site to help keep projects moving.

• Class 2 or Class 4/5 Licence
• 3+ years of relevant work experience operating asphalt pavers / rollers / skidsteers in road construction or surfacing.
• Confidence reversing, tipping and positioning vehicles on site
• Strong focus on safety and vehicle inspections
• Reliable, hardworking and physically fit
• Willingness to get out of the cab and support the team when needed
