Job summary

Jora New Zealand in Waipawa is seeking an experienced Driver Operator to join our pavement crew, deliver to project plans, and get home safely at the end of each day.

This hands-on role involves transporting plant and equipment, operating loaders, excavators, rollers and other heavy machinery, and supporting road maintenance across the region. A strong safety and teamwork ethos, plus a Class 5 licence and W/T/R endorsements, are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Full Class 5 Driver Licence.
• Current W, T & R Endorsements (Wheels, Tracks & Rollers).
• Experience transporting plant and equipment on a transporter.
• Proven experience operating heavy machinery within a civil or road maintenance environment.
• Experience working as an active member of a pavement crew.
• A great work ethic with a strong focus on Safety and Quality.
• Strong planning skills and the ability to deal with unexpected events and problem solve.
• Great communication skills with the confidence to speak up.
• A high level of physical fitness with the ability to carry out manual tasks.
• A positive "can do" attitude.

Responsibilities

• Transport plant and equipment and operate machinery on site.
• Support a busy pavement maintenance crew across the region.
• Safely operate loaders, excavators, rollers and other heavy machinery.
• Contribute to safe, quality delivery of maintenance and renewal projects.

Our crew in Waipawa are seeking an experienced Driver Operator to join our work whānau, deliver to project plans, and get home safely at the end of each day.

This is a hands-on role where you'll be responsible for transporting plant and equipment, operating machinery, and supporting a busy pavement maintenance crew across the region. You'll safely operate, navigate, and care for a range of equipment, including loaders, excavators, rollers, and other heavy machinery while assisting with road maintenance and construction activities.

You’ll play an active role within the pavement crew, contributing to the successful delivery of maintenance and renewal projects while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and teamwork.

You will have experience in roading, pavement maintenance, earthmoving, or civil construction. We would also really value:
