Job summary

Downer is seeking a Driver Operator to join the Wainui team, supporting maintenance on roads, footpaths, kerb and channel, and landscaping. You will operate a range of plant including tippers, rollers and loaders.

If you are physically fit, enjoy outdoor work, have a Full Class 2 Driver Licence and practical civil road construction experience, this is your chance to contribute to major infrastructure projects in Canterbury.

Qualifications

• Full Class 2 Driver Licence is required.
• Experience in road construction and civil works is preferred.
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors.
• Commitment to safe work practices is essential.

Responsibilities

• Operate plant such as tippers, rollers and loaders.
• Support maintenance work on unsealed roads, footpaths, kerb and channel and landscaping.

Here’s your chance to join the Wainui team where we take pride in upgrading and maintaining roads, pathways and connections throughout the region.

As a Driver Operator for one of the largest infrastructure business’ in New Zealand, you will be involved in exciting projects requiring you to pick up civil work, the operation of heavy machinery and preparation of sites. You will be tasked with undertaking a range of civil activities, primarily supporting Maintenance work on unsealed roads, footpaths, kerb and channel and landscaping. You will operate a range of plant including tippers, rollers and loaders.

If you are physically fit and enjoy spending your days outdoors and on your feet, this could be the position for you.

You’ll be a team player and confident operating independently as required. You’ll also have:

• A Full Class 2 Driver Licence
• Have practical work experience in road construction and civil
• A passion for working outdoors and keeping physically fit
• Show commitment to safe work practices
