Job summary

AWF New Zealand is seeking an experienced Class 5 driver for a fixed-term role in New Plymouth. Deliver and unload steel products across sites, three days per week with potential to move to full-time for the right candidate.

You will operate safely, handle loads with care and adhere to health and safety practices. Pass pre-employment drug & alcohol test and background checks. Overseas applicants are not considered.

Qualifications

• Class 5 NZ driver license required or in progress.
• HIAB qualification preferred but not essential.
• Strong understanding of load restraint and transport safety requirements.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work independently.
• Strong commitment to health and safety practices.

Responsibilities

Are you an experienced Class 5 driver looking for flexible work and the potential to secure a permanent role? We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused driver to join our client, delivering and unloading steel products to sites across New Plymouth. This is a fixed-term opportunity working three days per week, with the potential to move into full-time employment for the right candidate.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Transporting materials and products across sites
• Supporting site operations with general duties as needed
• Manual handling and heavy lifting of product
• Operating vehicles safely and efficiently in varied environments

What You Need

• Full Class 5 New Zealand Driver Licence
• HIAB qualification (preferred but not essential)
• Strong understanding of load restraint and transport safety requirements
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
• A strong commitment to health and safety practices
