KidsCan Charitable Trust - Albany, North Island

KidsCan is a passionate not-for-profit organisation dedicated to creating positive change for children across Aotearoa. With 1 in 6 children living in poverty, we ensure they have access to essentials like nutritious food, warm jackets, and sturdy shoes - empowering them to fully participate in school and early childhood education, and helping them reach their full potential.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Operations, you'll lead the day-to-day warehouse and distribution function. You'll set clear priorities, coach and support the Warehouse Assistants, and make sure picking, packing and dispatch run safely, smoothly and on time. You'll also maintain strong inventory and system accuracy, uphold MPI and health and safety requirements, and look for practical ways to improve how we work.

What you'll be doing

Leading daily toolbox meetings, setting priorities and coordinating warehouse activity

Coaching and supporting the Warehouse Assistants to deliver consistently high standards

Keeping picking, packing and dispatch on track so orders are sent by the end of the next business day

Maintaining accurate inventory records, leading stocktakes and managing warehouse activity in NetSuite

Ensuring invoices and goods received are accurately matched and recorded

Maintaining a safe, clean and organised warehouse that meets health and safety, MPI and transitional facility requirements

Coordinating volunteers and visitors during distribution events and site visits

Improving warehouse processes and systems to support reliable, efficient distribution

What you'll bring

Previous experience leading warehouse or distribution operations and supporting team performance

A hands-on, proactive leadership style with the confidence to set expectations and address day-to-day issues

Strong attention to detail, process discipline and a commitment to safety and quality

Experience using ERP systems, ideally NetSuite, along with freight booking portals

Confidence using Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, Teams and Microsoft 365

Strong problem-solving, prioritisation and communication skills

A current Forklift Operator Certificate with F endorsement and MPI accreditation

Transitional Facility Operator certification and health and safety training would be an advantage

Be part of a purpose-led organisation making a real impact for Kiwi kids

We have fabulous benefits, including the 'hour of power' (time for exercise), day off on your birthday and pawternity leave!

Work with a supportive, down-to-earth team

A role with variety, ownership, and the chance to make improvements

Ready to take the next step?

If you're a practical, people-focused warehouse and distribution leader who enjoys improving how things work and you want your mahi to make a real difference for children across Aotearoa, we'd love to hear from you.
