Job summary

H.G. Leach is seeking a logistics coordinator to support the dispatch and delivery workflow for a fleet of company and subcontractor trucks in the Waikato area. The role focuses on coordinating orders, improving delivery processes and leveraging digital tools to boost efficiency.

You will work alongside the Logistics Manager in a predominantly office-based setting, with some flexibility for planning and occasional Sunday checks to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in dispatch, transport, logistics, customer service or coordination.
• Strong organisation, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Confidence using spreadsheets and business systems.
• A proactive mindset, with an interest in technology and continuous improvement.
• Quarrying, aggregate or heavy transport experience is an advantage, but the right attitude and transferable skills are equally important.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate aggregate deliveries and customer orders with up to 30 trucks.
• Identify ways to improve our sales and delivery systems and reduce repetitive administration.
• Make information easier to access; explore AI, automation and digital tools to improve efficiency.

About the role

Working alongside our Logistics Manager, you will coordinate aggregate deliveries and customer orders, keeping up to 30 company and subcontractor trucks moving during peak periods.

Alongside the day-to-day dispatch work, you will identify ways to improve our sales and delivery systems, reduce repetitive administration and make information easier to access. We are looking for someone who enjoys finding smarter ways of working and is open to using AI, automation and digital tools to improve efficiency.
