Job summary

Westroads NZ is seeking a motivated Quarry Operations & Administration Assistant on the West Coast. The role blends office and quarry yard tasks, supporting customers, maintaining records, and assisting with operational activities.

Qualifications

• Physically fit and willing to undertake practical tasks.

• Eager to learn and build a career in the quarrying industry.
• Hold a Full Class 1 Driver Licence.

• Answering customer phone enquiries and providing counter sales
• Updating production and stock records
• Assisting with stockpile surveys and reporting
• Loading customer trailers (training provided)
• Maintaining stockpiles and site housekeeping
• Dust suppression and general yard duties
• Supporting quarry operations as skills develop

Description

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Quarry Operations & Administration Assistant to join our team. This entry-level position offers the opportunity to gain experience across all aspects of the quarry business, with genuine career development opportunities available for the right person.

About The Role

No two days are the same. You'll split your time between the office and the quarry yard, supporting customers, maintaining records, and assisting with operational activities.

Duties include:

• Answering customer phone enquiries and providing counter sales
• Updating production and stock records
• Assisting with stockpile surveys and reportingLoading customer trailers (training provided)

• Supporting quarry operations as skills develop

Skills and Experiences

• Friendly and professional with strong communication skills
• Comfortable working both in an office and outdoors
• Physically fit and willing to undertake practical tasks
• Able to multitask and work as part of a small team
• Eager to learn and build a career in the quarrying industry
• Hold a Full Class 1 Driver Licence

Advantageous if you also have:

• Wheels, Tracks & Rollers (WTR) endorsements
• Loader or other mobile plant experience
• Administration, retail, transport, farming, construction, or quarrying experience
• First Aid Certificate

You will also need to undergo a Ministry of Justice background check and successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
