Job summary

K&S Freighters Ltd is a growing transport and logistics provider with operations in Mount Maunganui. We are seeking a Dispatch Support to assist Transport Coordinators, manage bookings in the Transport Management System, and respond to customer queries.

This full-time role reports to the Branch Manager and Transport Manager. Ideal candidates will bring excellent communication, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to health and safety.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and with the team.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy; be methodical.
• Understands how to use Transport Management systems, or willing to learn quickly.
• Great awareness of Health and Safety.
• Ideally knowledge or legislative requirements in the Transport Industry.
• Previous experience within the Transport Industry would be preferable.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and liaise with customers to ensure high standard of service.
• Coordinate with Transport Coordinators and other internal/external parties.
• Assist with online systems such as Vehicle Booking System and container slots.
• Update container numbers and data in the TMS and customer systems.
• Follow up on outstanding incident, injury or near-miss reports.
• Answer phone calls and assist with inquiries.
• Provide backup dispatch support when staff are on leave.

About the role:

We are currently looking for a motivated individual with a can-do attitude to join our team as a Dispatch Support based at our Mount Maunganui Branch. You will need to be passionate about the Transport Industry and ideally have previous experience and knowledge within the industry. Reporting to the Branch Manager & Transport Manager, you will be responsible for the daily support to the Transport Coordinators by offering operational support as well as being responsible for booking and allocating jobs into the Transport Management System and responding to customer queries.

This is a full time role.

Primary tasks will include;

• Responding and liaising with customers to ensure high standard of customer service is attained and assisting with any issues or complaints in a timely manner.
• Communicating and working cohesively with the Transport Coordinators, and other internal and external parties.
• Assist with online VBS (Vehicle Booking System), Container Slots, changing and updating container numbers and polling for additional slots.
• Creating and ensuring a positive approach to H&S within the workplace
• Ensuring the KSF Transport Management system and customer systems are maintained and kept up to date with accurate data entry, ensuring all jobs the company performs are being recorded.
• Assisting in following up on any outstanding incident, injury or near miss reports.
• Answer phone calls and assist with phone queries
• Providing back up dispatch support when staff are on leave
