Job summary

MOVe Logistics Group is seeking an experienced Dispatcher to join the Freight team in New Zealand. The role requires coordinating trucks, drivers, and freight movements, planning loads, and maintaining customer expectations in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates will understand freight movements, load planning, and daily transport operations, with strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills. A forklift licence is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in transport, freight, logistics, fleet coordination, or a similar dispatch environment.
• Strong understanding of freight movements, load planning, driver allocation, route planning, and day-to-day transport operations.
• Confident communication with drivers, customers, operations teams, and external stakeholders.
• Ability to stay calm, decide quickly, and think on your feet when plans change.
• Strong organisational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Solid knowledge of New Zealand geography and impact of distance, timing, and driver hours on planning.
• Practical, solutions-focused approach and ability to prioritise competing demands.
• Team-player attitude and relationship-building across drivers and internal teams.
• Forklift licence with OSH and F endorsement would be an advantage.

We’re looking for an experienced, transport-savvy Dispatcher to join our Freight team. This is not an entry-level dispatch role - we need someone who understands how freight moves, knows the pace and pressure of a transport environment, and can confidently coordinate trucks, drivers, freight movements, and customer expectations across a busy operation.

About the Role:

As a Dispatcher, you will coordinate and schedule MOVe trucks to ensure customer freight is moved safely, efficiently, and on time. You will be planning loads, allocating drivers and equipment, monitoring freight movements, managing changes throughout the day, and solving issues as they arise. This role requires strong transport industry knowledge, sound geographical awareness, and the ability to make practical decisions in a fast-moving operational environment.

• A strong understanding of freight movements, load planning, driver allocation, route planning, and day-to-day transport operations.
• Confidence communicating with drivers, customers, operations teams, and external stakeholders.
• The ability to stay calm, make decisions, and think on your feet when plans change or pressure increases.
• Strong organisational and analytical skills, with good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Solid geographical knowledge of New Zealand and an understanding of how distance, timing, driver hours, and operational constraints affect freight planning.
• A practical, solutions-focused approach and the confidence to prioritise competing demands.
• A team-player attitude, with the ability to build strong relationships across drivers, customers, and internal teams.
• A forklift licence with OSH and F endorsement would be an advantage, as there may be times where practical on-floor support is required.
