Job summary

Truck Stops (NZ) Ltd is expanding at our Ruakura site in Hamilton. You will diagnose and repair mechanical issues on heavy trucks, use cutting‑edge diagnostic tools, and perform routine maintenance to keep vehicles in peak condition.

Reporting to the Branch Manager and Foreman, you’ll mentor apprentices and grow your own skills, with a minimum 40 hours per week, including Saturday shifts and rostered after‑hours callouts.

With two dedicated COF lanes and three fully equipped service pits and 14 repair bays, this modern facility gives our team the space and tools to work efficiently and deliver the high-quality workmanship we're known for.

The Role

Reporting to the Branch Manager & supported by the Foreman, you'll diagnose and repair mechanical issues using cutting-edge diagnostic tools, and conduct routine maintenance, service, and inspections to keep our trucks performing at their best. You'll collaborate with experienced pros, mentor apprentices, and continuously grow your skills.

This is a minimum 40 hours a week with a rostered Saturday. There is also an expectation to work after hours callouts as needed on a rostered basis, and flexibility to travel for work and training as and when required.

• Excellent problem-solving skills to tackle challenges head-on
• Ideally, a Class 5 HT license (we can help you get it!)
• NZQA in Heavy Road Transport or Heavy Plant & Equipment
• Reliability and willingness to commit to the team
