Job summary

Ritchies Transport is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic for our Westgate workshop on a permanent, full-time basis. You will service, diagnose faults, repair and perform preventative maintenance and COF inspections across a diverse fleet.

You will join a supportive team focused on sustaining safe, reliable transport while transitioning to low-emission and electric vehicle technologies. EV experience is advantageous but not essential.

Qualifications

• Qualified mechanic with strong diagnostic and repair skills.
• Experience servicing heavy vehicles and performing COF inspections is preferred.
• Commitment to health and safety and high workmanship standards.

Responsibilities

• Service, fault diagnose, repair and maintain fleet vehicles.
• Perform preventative maintenance and COF inspections.
• Investigate and resolve faults using diagnostic tools and workshop equipment.
• Support a safe and efficient workshop environment.

The Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our Westgate team on a permanent, full-time basis. You will play a vital role in keeping our fleet safe, reliable, and on the road, carrying out servicing, fault diagnosis, repairs, preventative maintenance and COF inspections across a diverse range of vehicles.

About You

You're a qualified and reliable mechanic who takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship. You enjoy working as part of a team but are equally confident working independently when needed.

You'll bring:

Experience working with electric vehicles is advantageous but not essential.

Your Skills

• NZQA Level 4 Heavy Automotive Qualification, or equivalent workshop experience
• Current New Zealand Class 1 Driver Licence (Class 2-4 preferred)
• Proven experience servicing and repairing heavy vehicles
• Strong understanding of diagnostic systems and workshop technology
• Health and safety focused
• Physically capable of carrying out workshop duties
• Computer and technology literate

Experience with EV systems or alternative fuel vehicles will be highly regarded.
