Job summary

Ritchies Transport Holdings Ltd. in Timaru is seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic for a permanent, full‑time role.

You will service and repair diesel and petrol engines across a range of heavy vehicles, including COF inspections, with emphasis on safety and efficiency. You will join a team that values skill, reliability and teamwork; NZQA Level 4 qualification and a valid NZ Class 1 licence are preferred, with EV training given priority.

Qualifications

• NZQA Level 4 Heavy Automotive Qualification or equivalent experience.
• Current NZ Driver Licence (Class 1 required, Class 2–4 preferred).
• EV training or qualifications prioritized for lite or heavy vehicles.
• Health and safety focused and physically capable of lifting up to 25kg.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair diesel and petrol engines and fleet vehicles.
• Carry out COF inspections, servicing and routine maintenance.
• Diagnose faults and perform repairs across a range of heavy vehicles.
• Work with brands including Volvo, MAN, Scania, BCI and Mitsubishi.
