Job summary

Ritchies Transport Holdings Ltd. in Morrinsville is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our workshop on a permanent basis. You will maintain a mixture of vehicle brands, perform COF inspections, and handle day-to-day repairs to keep the fleet moving.

Experience with electric vehicles is a bonus as we move toward a more sustainable future. As the sole mechanic in Morrinsville, you will diagnose, plan, and complete repairs independently.

Qualifications

• NZQA L4 Heavy Automotive Qualification/ equivalent automotive workshop experience.
• Current New Zealand Drivers’ License Class 1 (ideally up to Class 4)
• Eye for detail
• Health and safety conscious
• Physically capable of lifting up to 25kgs
• Tech savvy
• EV experience is a bonus

Responsibilities

• Perform proactive and reactive maintenance across the fleet.
• Conduct COF inspections.
• Carry out day-to-day repairs across multiple vehicle brands.
• Diagnose, plan, and complete repairs independently as the sole mechanic in Morrinsville workshop.
• Troubleshoot issues and support fleet uptime.

Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our Morrinsville crew on a permanent basis. Working on a variety of vehicle brands, this role involves proactive and reactive maintenance, COF inspections, and day-to-day repairs across our fleet. Experience with electric vehicles will be a bonus as we transition toward a more sustainable future.

As the sole mechanic in our Morrinsville workshop, you’ll be relied upon to diagnose, plan, and complete repairs. You are confident working independently and can troubleshoot issues on your own.

You have a strong level of written and spoken English. You know what the expectation is with Waka Kotahi and follow regulations. You have an interest in working on buses!
