Job summary

Ritchies Transport Albany workshop is seeking an experienced Workshop Mechanic to join on a permanent basis. You'll work across a variety of bus brands, performing proactive and reactive maintenance, COF inspections, and day-to-day repairs to keep the fleet moving.

Experience with electric vehicles is a bonus as we move toward a more sustainable future, and you will be part of a team that values safety, accuracy, and a collaborative approach.

Qualifications

• Skilled mechanic with formal automotive qualification and workshop experience.
• Strong written and spoken English.
• Able to service, diagnose faults and perform repairs.
• Aware of NZ transport regulations (Waka Kotahi).

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair a variety of bus brands and fleet assets.
• Perform COF inspections and diagnostic work as required.
• Contribute to ongoing maintenance and safety improvements, including EV readiness as the fleet decarbonises.

We are looking for an experienced Workshop Mechanic to join our Albany crew on a permanent basis. Working on a variety of vehicle brands, this role involves proactive and reactive maintenance, COF inspections, and day-to-day repairs across our fleet. Experience with electric vehicles will be a bonus as we transition toward a more sustainable future.

You know what the expectation is with Waka Kotahi and follow regulations.
You have an interest in working on buses!

Your Skills

• NZQA L4 Heavy Automotive Qualification/ equivalent automotive workshop experience
• Current New Zealand Drivers’ License Class 1 (ideally up to Class 4)
• Eye for detail
• Health and safety conscious
• Physically capable of lifting up to 25kgs
• Tech savvy

EV experience is a bonus
