Job summary

Responsibilities

• Dispatching jobs to drivers to ensure prompt and efficient service delivery and prioritizing customer needs.
• Balance driver workloads and monitor routes to optimize efficiency.
• Ensure drivers have paperwork and equipment for safe waste collection, including hazardous/medical waste.
• Monitor and manage rescheduled jobs to minimize disruption.
• Set up customer accounts and enter details into the system for new or modified service agreements.
• Respond to customer queries via phone or email with timely information.

The role you’ll play.

As a Despatch Coordinator at WM New Zealand, you will play a crucial role in the efficient coordination of fleet scheduling, driver management, and the safe handling of hazardous and medical waste. Your responsibilities will involve dispatching jobs ensuring customer needs are met, balancing driver workloads, monitoring routes and ensuring timely completion of tasks while maintaining excellent customer service standards.

• Dispatching jobs to drivers to ensure prompt and efficient service delivery, while prioritizing customer needs.
• Balancing driver workloads and monitoring routes to optimize efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Ensuring drivers have all necessary paperwork and equipment for safe waste collection, including hazardous and medical waste.
• Monitoring and managing jobs that have been rescheduled by drivers, ensuring minimal disruption to service.
• Setting up customer accounts and entering details into the system for new or modified service agreements.
• Responding to customer queries and concerns via phone or email, providing timely and accurate information and assistance.

Qualifications

What you’ll need.

• Proven experience in dispatch coordination or fleet scheduling, preferably in a logistics or waste management environment.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with drivers and customers.
• Knowledge of hazardous waste handling regulations and procedures would be advantageous.
• Proficiency in computer systems and software, including MS Office and dispatch management tools.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
