Job summary

Onside in Christchurch is seeking a data engineering lead to own the design, build, and reliability of data pipelines and orchestration for their area. You will drive data quality across analytics, BI, and customer reporting, mentoring junior engineers and aligning with Product, Engineering, Customer, and Finance teams.

Four days a week in our Christchurch office; AI-assisted workflows, growth funding, and a supportive parental leave policy are part of our strong culture.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building reliable data pipelines on AWS.
• Strong Python and SQL skills with data modeling experience.
• Familiarity with testing, monitoring, and documentation practices.

Responsibilities

• Own design, build, and reliability of data pipelines and orchestration for your area.
• Resolve data issues end-to-end and fix root causes, not symptoms.
• Mentor junior engineers and represent the data team with Product, Engineering, Customer, and Finance.
• Implement testing, monitoring, and documentation standards for your area.
• Collaborate with BI and analytics stakeholders to ensure trusted data products.
