Job summary

Datacom Data Centres' Auckland site is seeking a 24x7 Data Centre Technician to join a team delivering high standards of operational delivery for customers.

You'll receive comprehensive training, a clear career pathway, and a culture that promotes from within. The role involves rotating day and night shifts at Orbit Data Centre in Auckland, with focus on safety, customer service, and reliable IT infrastructure support.

Qualifications

• Willingness to work rotating day/night shifts.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot customer and technical issues.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure.
• IT experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Complete and contribute to the Data Centre training programme.
• Support the Data Centre Team with Batch Services: Operating batch processes, monitoring alerts and escalating issues.
• Provide first level support and hands and eyes services to our Data Centre customers.
• Ensure health and safety requirements are adhered to.
• Provide consistent and excellent management of data centre assets.
• Delivery of customer facing activities and fostering customer relationships.
• Installation and/or management of Data Centre infrastructure including power systems, IT and telecommunications equipment, cabling and server racks.
• Ensure adherence to (and documentation of) existing and new standards relating to customer change.
• Completion of all operational tasks assigned to you in a timely manner and communication of status.
• Ensuring all Datacom security objectives are strictly adhered to.
• Being part of a culture of continuous improvement, seeking out efficiencies, service improvements, and new ways of working
