Job summary

Greater Wellington Regional Council is seeking a motivated Coordinator to join the Pedal Ready team in Wellington. This permanent part-time role (18 hours per week) is based in our central Wellington office and operates as a job share with another Coordinator.

You will plan, coordinate and deliver the Pedal Ready programme, support instructors, manage resources and ensure training is delivered safely across the region, working closely with schools, NZTA Waka Kotahi and community groups.

Qualifications

• Passion for active transport, education or community outcomes.
• Ability to engage with schools and adult audiences.
• Experience coordinating projects or community initiatives.
• Strong stakeholder management skills.
• Experience leading, training or supporting deliverers of programmes.
• Excellent planning, organisation and problem solving.
• Commitment to health, safety and continuous improvement.
• Willingness to achieve NZQA Level 4 Cycle Skills Training.

Responsibilities

• Design, coordinate and deliver the Pedal Ready cycle skills training programme.
• Build relationships with schools, workplaces, councils and community organisations.
• Recruit, train, support and develop contractor instructors.
• Ensure programme delivery meets BikeReady and NZTA Waka Kotahi standards.
• Manage programme resources, equipment and budgets.
• Oversee instructor health, safety and wellbeing requirements.
• Monitor programme performance and report to stakeholders.
• Promote cycling and active transport initiatives across the Wellington region.
