Job summary

Speed Freaks is seeking a Programme Coordinator to lead the Wellington pilot, reporting to the CEO and Regional Development Manager. You will oversee two part-time navigators and volunteers, support AOD and community providers, onboard volunteer coaches, and grow reach and sustainability.

You will build relationships with parkrunNZ and other community partners, promote kaupapa values, and work across recovery and wellbeing sectors to strengthen connections.

Qualifications

• Experience in the AOD and mental health sector with relevant registrations desired.
• Passion for running, walking and community connection.
• Full driver’s license and reliable transport.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Comfort with computers, smartphones and social media.
• Ability to create safe spaces for individuals, whanau and community.

Responsibilities

• Develop participant, volunteer coach and stakeholder engagement.
• Organise internal and external events for Speed Freaks groups.
• Meet reporting requirements and ensure policies are maintained.
• Respond to change and growth as the organisation develops.
• Collaborate with Regional Development Manager and National team on local responses.
• Hold courageous conversations with clear boundaries and confidentiality.
• Support groups and networking from our base, with some travel to Auckland and Christchurch.
