Job summary

Cycling Southland is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and community-focused individual to join our team as a Part Time Development Officer. This role is based in Southland and offers flexible working arrangements with 15–25 hours per week.

You will help grow cycling participation across Southland, assist with school cycling programmes and community activities, support track cycling development, and provide admin and communications support across operations.

Qualifications

  • Experience in sport, event delivery, education, communications, or community programmes is advantageous.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines while delivering quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Support growth and participation initiatives across cycling programmes.
  • Assist with delivery of school cycling programmes and community activities.
  • Support track cycling development programmes.
  • Assist with planning and implementation of events and activities.
  • Provide administrative support across Cycling Southland operations.
  • Assist with social media content, promotion, and communications.
  • Support the maintenance and organisation of Cycling Southland assets and equipment.
  • Collaborate with volunteers, clubs, schools, sponsors, and stakeholders.

Cycling Southland is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and community-focused individual to join our team as a Part Time Development Officer.

This is an exciting opportunity to help grow and strengthen cycling participation across Southland while supporting some of New Zealand's most recognised cycling programmes and events.

Position Details:
  • Part Time: 15 minimum - 25 maximum hours per week (to be agreed with successful candidate)
  • Flexible working arrangements available
  • Based in Southland
Key Areas of Responsibility:
  • Support growth and participation initiatives across cycling programmes
  • Assist with the delivery of school cycling programmes and community-based activities
  • Support track cycling development programmes
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of events and activities
  • Provide administrative support across Cycling Southland operations

Experience within sport, event delivery, education, communications, or community programmes would be an advantage.
