Job summary

Thames Council is seeking a proactive Customer Services Representative to join the Thames office. You will be the front-line link between the Council, customers, contractors and the community, delivering high-quality service across a broad range of Council services.

The role involves front-of-house, digital and phone communications, handling payments, bookings and information on rates, consents, by-laws, inspections and recycling services. A full driver’s licence is required.

Qualifications

  • Solid MS Office skills and the ability to pick up new systems.

Responsibilities

  • Processing and receipting customer payments.
  • Answering incoming telephone calls and providing accurate information and assistance to customers.
  • Processing all incoming emails to Council
  • Undertaking administrative tasks, including hall bookings, utility connections, wedding bookings and enquiries.
  • Responding to rates enquiries and providing general rates information.
  • Providing information relating to Building Consents and Resource Consents.
  • Booking building inspections
  • Assisting customers with enquiries regarding Council bylaws and regulations.
  • Managing a broad range of general customer enquiries.
  • Providing cemetery administration support and information.
  • Providing information relating to rubbish and recycling services.
  • Processing AA transactions and enquiries, including motor vehicle registration and driver licensing services.

About the role

We are seeking a confident, motivated customer services star to bring their skills and enthusiasm to a great team, delivering customer services in our Thames office. The role sits within the team providing front-of-house, digital and phone communications and is part of the wider Customer Services team across the district.

How you fit

The Customer Service Representative role is the link between Council, customers, contractors of Council and their customers, in alignment with the core values of the Customer Services Team.

This role is based in Thames and is responsible for providing exceptional front-line customer service across a wide range of Council services. Key responsibilities include:

  • Processing and receipting customer payments.
  • Answering incoming telephone calls and providing accurate information and assistance to customers.
  • Processing all incoming emails to Council
