Job summary

Carters in Auckland's St Lukes branch is seeking a Customer Services Representative to deliver outstanding service to trade and retail customers daily. You will support branch operations, serve customers on the floor, load trucks, manage stock and keep the yard safe and tidy.

Ideal candidates hold a valid NZ driver’s licence, a forklift licence, and a genuine ability to build trust with customers while prioritising safety and accuracy in every transaction.

Qualifications

• Valid New Zealand driver’s licence is required.
• OSH-certified forklift licence with demonstrated competency.
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build rapport with customers.
• Solid knowledge of health and safety regulations in the building industry.
• Physically fit for occasional heavy lifting and manual handling.
• Proficient with computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and build relationships.
• Fill and process customer orders accurately; load orders onto trucks.
• Ensure loads meet legal and safety requirements before delivery.
• Unload supplier deliveries and verify goods against documents.
• Participate in cycle counts and stock takes.
• Keep panels, bulk store, and yard tidy and presentable.
• Load/unload building materials using forklift or manual handling.
• Conduct customer deliveries safely and on time per health and safety rules.

Our CARTERS St Lukes branch is looking for a Customer Services Representative to join our team and deliver great service to our trade and retail customers every day.

About the Role

As a Customer Service Representative, you will play a key role in achieving branch sales targets and building lasting customer loyalty through quality service. This role will also allow you to work across all areas of branch operations, from serving customers on the floor to loading trucks, managing stock, and keeping the yard running safely and efficiently.

• Providing excellent customer service and building strong customer relationships
• Filling customer orders accurately and efficiently, and loading correct orders onto trucks
• Ensuring loads comply with legal and safety requirements before deliveries go out
• Unloading supplier deliveries and checking goods against documentation
• Participating in cycle counts and stocktakes
• Keeping the panels / bulk store, and yard clean, tidy, and well presented
• Load and unload building materials either with a forklift or manual handling
• Carryout customer deliveries efficiently and on time and in accordance with health and safety regulations

About You

You will be the perfect fit for this role if you are committed to delivering exceptional customer service and have the following skills and qualities:

• Valid FULL New Zealand Driver's Licence
• Current Forklift Licence (OSH certified, F Endorsed) and demonstrated forklift competency
• A real people person with a natural talent for building trust and rapport with our customers
• Proven awareness of health and safety legislation in this industry
• Physically fit for the occasional heavy lifting and manual handling
• Proficiency in the use of computer systems
• Building industry knowledge is advantageous
