Role Description

The Customer Service Representative role at Hamptons ITM is a full-time, on-site position based in the Christchurch Metropolitan Area. In this role, you will respond to customer inquiries in person, by phone, and via email, providing accurate information on timber, building materials, and hardware products. You will process orders and quotations, coordinate with the warehouse and sales teams, and ensure timely and correct fulfillment of customer requests. Daily responsibilities include handling returns and exchanges, resolving issues, and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction and professional service. You will also help keep customer records up to date, support inventory and pricing checks, and contribute to a positive, safety-conscious work environment.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability in customer-facing roles, including Customer Service Representatives and Customer Service responsibilities.
• Experience providing responsive Customer Support and maintaining strong Customer Satisfaction standards.
• Skills in enhancing overall Customer Experience through clear communication, problem-solving, and follow-through.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical product information in an accessible way.
• Comfort with using point-of-sale systems, basic computer applications, and managing orders and customer records.
• Attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a busy trade and retail environment.
• Knowledge of timber, building materials, or hardware products is an advantage; willingness to learn is essential.
• Previous experience in retail, trade supply, construction, or a related industry and a commitment to workplace safety are beneficial.
