Job summary

Avis Budget Group is hiring a Rental Operations Agent in Nelson, based at Nelson Airport. This entry-level, part-time role involves front-counter interactions, rental processing, and vehicle care across our operations.

You will learn to handle bookings, inspect vehicles, drive and park, and contribute to a supportive, well-known international company. Training is provided and a 3x8 shift pattern is offered.

Qualifications

• Full, clean, valid class 1 driver’s licence is essential.
• Experience in retail, hospitality or customer service is preferred.
• Able to deliver exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment.
• Willing to learn and use computer systems to input rental information.

Responsibilities

• Interact with customers on the counter and process rental transactions, contracts and bookings.
• Inspect vehicles for damages, assist with maintenance, drive and park cars.
• Clean interiors and exteriors to prepare vehicles for customers.

Best of both world where you are not just sitting behind a desk all day! Based at Nelson Airport , we have a part -time , permanent position available for someone who has exceptional customer service skills and isn't afraid of hard work.

We operate 7 days a week, from 7 am to 10 pm each day. We are looking for someone who can work 3 x 8 hour shifts working on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday of each week.

About the Role

As what we call a Rental Operations Agent you will be involved in all aspects of our business! This varied role covers both our front and back of house operations. On the counter you will be interacting with our customers, marketing products and services, completing rental transactions, contracts, and bookings.

On the other hand, you will be inspecting vehicles for damages and maintenance issues, driving, and parking our cars as well as cleaning vehicles (interior and exterior) in the wash bay so they are ready for our customers.

What we are looking for:

• Full , clean, valid class 1 driver's licence is essential for this role.
• Previous experience within retail, hospitality, customer service or similar roles
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while delivery exceptional customer service.
• Comfortable learning and using various computer systems to accurately input rental information (training will be provided)
• Ability to follow procedures and adhere to company guidelines and standards.
