Job summary

Stantec in New Zealand is seeking a Contracts Manager to lead delivery of water-related projects in Hawke’s Bay, Hastings. You will manage scope, schedule, budget and risk while coordinating with clients, contractors and regulators.

The role requires 5 years of relevant experience with NZS39XX contracts, strong cost estimating and tender skills, and proven ability to communicate clearly and manage subcontractors and suppliers. A supportive team and development opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Relevant technical tertiary qualification.
• 5 years of relevant professional experience including NZS39XX contracts.
• Solid cost estimating, tender preparation and report writing skills.
• Clear and consistent communication to build trust with peers and clients.
• Coordination/management of sub-contractors, site supervisors and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support delivery of water, wastewater and stormwater projects, managing scope, schedule, budget, quality and risk.
• Undertake site inspections, field investigations, feasibility assessments and constructability reviews.
• Prepare and review project documentation, including cost estimates, tender docs, contracts records and reports.
• Assist with tender evaluations and support procurement and construction phases.
• Monitor project financial performance, including tracking and forecasting construction activities.
• Maintain positive relationships with clients, contractors, authorities and internal teams to support project outcomes.
• Identify and resolve technical and delivery issues with multidisciplinary teams.
• Mentor junior team members and ensure proper documentation and meetings are maintained.
