Job summary

Heights Recruitment in Oamaru, South Island, is partnering with a Tier 1 contractor to appoint a Contracts Manager. You will oversee civil, construction and site works with a strong forward workload across private and public projects in the Waitaki region.

Qualifications

• Basic work plans, methods, H&S and environmental documentation familiarity.
• Engineering qualification or currently studying toward one.
• Able to read plans and liaise between management, field staff and engineers.
• Experience with tendering and variations / extra works.
• Leadership experience with a delivery focus.
• Proficient in Outlook, Excel, Word and MS Project.
• Contribute to culture and strategic vision of the business.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple projects in the Waitaki region with a forward workload.
• Lead project teams and coordinate between management, field staff and engineers.
• Ensure project delivery aligns with safety, environmental, and client requirements.
• Collaborate with Divisional Manager and admin support.

Role:

Is for an experienced Project or Contracts Manager with proven industry experience, looking for a role with an industry leader in the civil, Construction and Site Works space. With an impressive forward workload, you'll have the flexibility to showcase your past experience, whilst managing a number of projects in and around the wider Waitaki region. You'll be supported by a Divisional Manager who has spent years working his way through the industry and understands what it takes to succeed. With a team of around 50 + strong, you'll be well equipped when striving for a successful project delivery.

We are keen to hear from any leaders who have an impressive civil background, however if you have experience in the construction or site works space this will set you apart from the rest.

What we are looking for:

• Comfortable setting up basic work plans, methods, H&S and any environmental documentation
• Ideally have a tertiary engineering qualification or working towards one
• Experience reading plans, able to comfortably liaise between management, field staff and engineers.
• Assisting in tendering for project's and working through variations / extra works
• Proven basic leadership experience and the mindset of striving for a successful project delivery
• Experienced on Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and Project
• Actively contribute to the overall culture and strategic vison of the business.
