Job summary

The Salvation Army in Whangarei is seeking a part-time role up to 24 hours per week to support Bridge clients and their families. The successful applicant will bring lived experience of addiction and recovery to advocate for client voices and participate in planning alongside our team.

You will work within the lived experience consumer advisory framework, contribute to feedback, and help shape service delivery with respect to Te Tiriti o Waitangi commitments.

Qualifications

• Having experienced alcohol and other drug treatment services yourself (desirable, but not essential).
• Two years of post-treatment recovery is preferred.
• Commitment to improving lives of Bridge clients and families.

We're seeking someone with both the personal experience of addiction and recovery and preferably experience as a family member of an affected other to join our dynamic team at The Salvation Army.

Together, we can ensure that the voices of our clients / tangata whai ora and their families are not only heard but truly valued, as we strive to meet their needs and honour our commitment to being active partners to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitating client and family feedback
• Providing invaluable insights, guidance, and advocacy
• Representing the perspective of tangata whai ora / clients and their families
• Sitting on the National Consumer Advisor lived experience team.
• Contributing to the transformational consumer/lived experience participation plan

Person Specification:

• Having experienced alcohol and other drug treatment services yourself (desirable, but not essential)
• You will ideally with two years of post-treatment recovery
• Commitment to improving the lives of Bridge clients and their families

This is a permanent part time role up to 24 hours per week as negotiated with Bridge Director.

The hourly rate for this role will be $29.10 to $31.65 dependent on the applicant.
