Job description

Jora New Zealand will close on 9th September 2026. Thank you for being with us, we are cheering you on as you continue your career journey.

For nearly 87 years, Breen has been a pioneer in construction. What began in Southland and then Central Otago, today spans from Oamaru to Twizel, Dunedin to Invercargill, Alexandra, Queenstown and Wanaka. Our skilled teams work together to deliver exceptional commercial, civil, rural and residential projects.

Breen’s beginnings as a small family business are still very much the heart of who we are today. We pull together, do great work and encourage each other to be better, every single day. We look for like-minded, excellent operators and agile thinkers, known for being great at what they do.

The Job

As a Project Manager in our Construction Lite team, you’ll be responsible for coordinating people and processes to ensure that work is delivered on time and to budget without compromising quality. You’ll be capable of running multiple projects at a time and will be the go-to person for everything involving each project’s organisation and timeline. Ideally, you’ll be a qualified carpenter with a bit of a bent towards administration who is ready to move away from the tools.

What you'll need to succeed
  • A minimum of 5 years previous experience in construction with direct experience in residential project management
  • An analytical and logical approach to organizing and carrying out your work
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Personal drive, initiative and a natural curiosity to understand and solve problems
  • Strong understanding of H&S at Work Act
  • Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings and good numeracy
  • Ability to work as part of a team, but confident when working independently and unsupervised
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office Suite, including MS Project) and able to learn new technology quickly
  • Ability to build relationships both internally and externally with suppliers, subcontractors and clients alike
We offer you
  • Great supportive team within a company that has a genuinely people-focused culture
  • We will invest in your growth, value your contribution and nurture your personal and professional development
  • Health insurance and service bonuses
  • Regular company functions and social events, including an active social club
