Job summary

Qualifications

• Relevant residential or commercial construction experience with a strong work history and references.
• Ideally experience across general carpentry, framing, fixing, roofing, exterior cladding, architraves and steel stud work.
• Site Safe and other trade tickets/licences are desirable.
• Own hand and power tools are an advantage; a drivers license and vehicle are advantageous too.

Responsibilities

• Deliver general carpentry on a range of sites.
• Frame, fix and complete wider construction duties.
• Install roofing and handle roof repairs and maintenance.
• Measure, cut and assemble timber, framing, roofing materials and building components.
• Install those materials and components to specification.
• Read construction drawings, plans, specifications and measurements and follow instructions.
• Maintain a high standard of workmanship while working safely and efficiently.

A New Zealand-owned workforce contracting business needs experienced Carpenters for full-time projects in Christchurch. The employer wants tradespeople who have worked with several construction methods on commercial, residential or industrial jobs and who can slot straight into established building teams.

Hires will move between short and long-term projects on full-time contracts with consistent hours, and some placements could lead to permanent employment.
