Job summary

Canstaff is helping a well-regarded construction firm find a qualified carpenter for an initial 3–4 month contract with potential extension. Location is Central South Island and surrounding areas, with work on residential and commercial projects.

NZ qualified carpenter or overseas certificate required; ability to read plans, own tools, and transport essential. Foreman experience is a plus but not necessary.

Qualifications

• NZ qualified Carpenter or similar overseas certificate.
• Able to read and interpret residential and commercial building plans.
• Competent in both residential and commercial carpentry.
• Own tools (hand and power) and reliable transport.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently.

Our client, a well-respected name in the construction industry, is looking for a qualified carpenter to start in Auguston an initial short-term contract with the potential for long-term work. Specialising in architectural homes, commercial new builds, alterations, fit-outs, and residential developments, the company needs a skilled carpenter who can work across both residential and commercial projects.

Key Requirements:

• NZ qualified Carpenter or similar overseas certificate
• Proven ability to read and interpret residential and commercial building plans
• Competence in both residential and commercial carpentry
• Own tools (hand and power) and reliable transport
• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently
• Foreman experience is a plus but not required

Employment Details:

• Contract duration: Initial 3-4 months, with potential extension based on performance
