Job summary

EVT Limited is seeking a Conference & Events Sales Executive for QT Auckland. The role focuses on converting inbound enquiries and driving new business across conferences, events, and group bookings, while nurturing key client relationships and partnering with hotel operations.

You will lead end-to-end sales processes, present compelling offerings, and mentor junior team members as part of a dynamic, Daymaker culture within EVT’s premium QT hotels in New Zealand and beyond.

Qualifications

• Minimum proven experience in a similar conference and events sales role.
• Proven ability to convert high-value conference and event opportunities.
• Strong negotiation and closing skills for complex sales cycles.
• Familiarity with hotel operating systems such as Opera Cloud and iVvy.
• Analytical mindset with ability to review sales performance and identify growth opportunities.
• Excellent organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Outstanding presentation, communication, influencing, and stakeholder management.
• Mentoring or coaching experience is desirable.

• Drive proactive sales activity to generate new conference, event and group business.
• Own key client accounts, developing strategies for repeat business, account growth and reactivation of lost opportunities.
• Lead conference and event processes through to the day of the event, including BEO meetings and handovers, working closely with operations and F&B.
• Build relationships with key clients, industry partners, PCOs and business event organisations, including hotel site inspections and entertaining.
• Mentor junior team members and act as the subject matter expert for conference and events sales.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and convert inbound enquiries while identifying opportunities to maximise event, accommodation and ancillary revenue

What You’ll Bring

• Demonstrated experience in a similar role
• Demonstrated success converting high value conference and event opportunities
• Proven ability to negotiate and close complex sales opportunities
• Knowledge of hotel operating systems such as Opera Cloud and iVvy
• Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to analyse sales performance and identify growth opportunities
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Strong presentation, communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills
• Experience mentoring, coaching or supporting team members (desirable)
