Job summary

Pact Group in Central Otago is seeking a part-time Community Support Worker to assist people with intellectual disabilities in the community, helping them build life skills and pursue personal goals in the Cromwell area.

You will work weekends, support participants in daily activities, and document progress to reflect outcomes, while fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Calm, positive approach, even when challenged.
  • Full driver’s licence and basic computer skills.

About the Role

We’re looking forPart-timecommunity support workers who are ready to make a genuine impact. In this role, you'll support people as they explore their community, discover new interests, strengthen life skills, and work toward personal goals.Make a real difference in someone’s life every day — no two days are the same. In this role, you will:

  • Support people in the community as they set and achieve personal goals
  • Encourage participation in daily life and community activities
  • Provide practical assistance with routines, well-being, and skill-building
  • Model positive behaviours and foster confidence, resilience, and hope
  • Keep clear, accurate documentation to support progress
  • And most importantly, ensure the people you work with have fun and feel valued!

You must be able to work weekends.

What you’ll bring

Our Central Otago team is looking for someone with:

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A calm, positive approach, even when things get challenging
  • A genuine passion for helping others grow and succeed
  • A full driver’s licence and basic computer skills
  • A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 3Health & Wellbeing) — or willingness to work toward one once you’re on board
  • The right to work in New Zealand (essential)
