Job summary

Healthvision is seeking compassionate support workers to assist in community-based care across New Zealand. You will provide personal care, meal support, and help clients access activities in the community, while maintaining dignity and independence.

Ideal candidates have healthcare exposure, a NZ driver’s license, and flexibility to work rotating rosters including weekends. Training and travel between clients will be provided as part of the role.

Qualifications

  • Previous healthcare experience is an advantage or entry from trainee programmes may be considered.
  • A Full New Zealand Driver's License is a must.
  • Flexible to travel and work on rotating rosters.
  • Willingness to learn and travel between clients is required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with personal care including showering and bathing.
  • Assist with household management and meal preparation.
  • Support exercise programmes and community access.
  • Provide medication support as needed.
  • Work across rotating day/night shifts, including weekends.

About the Position | Te Mahi

Responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting with personal cares (showering, bathing)
  • Assisting with household management and meal preparation
  • Supporting exercise programmes
  • Assisting with accessing the community
  • Bowel, Bladder, and Catheter care
  • Moving and handling hoists and manual transfers
  • Medication support

We offer a range of employment opportunities including casual, part-time, and full-time positions, which will be discussed further during the recruitment process.

Days of work: As this is community-based work, rotating rosters would be involved including am, pm and weekend work. Your preferred hours of work can be discussed during the recruitment process.

The duration of these hours may vary, ranging from shorter to longer periods, depending on the specific needs of the people we support.

About You | He Momo

You are a calm but confident-natured individual who can demonstrate resilience and understand the challenges of our service users. There are many responsibilities associated with being a support worker which can be challenging and fulfilling. It is rewarding when you are part of the support that enables a person to live their best lives in the community.

The candidate would have (Candidate Pre-Requisites):

  • Previous experience in healthcare would be an added advantage and those looking to enter the healthcare sector will also be considered (comprehensive training can be provided).
  • Access to your own car and ability to drive independently (a Full New Zealand Driver's License is a must)
  • Flexibility to travel
  • Flexibility to work on a rotating roster
  • Legal right to work in New Zealand is a must.
  • Pay Band: $24.13 - $30.78 per hour (This is based on the Pay Equity Settlement 2017 – hourly pay rates based on equivalency of Healthcare Qualifications assessed under Pay Equity).
