Job summary

Healthvision is seeking a dedicated support worker to assist a sociable man in daily living, personal care, and home management in the Hutt Valley area. You will provide person-centred care, support participation in activities, and help access community resources.

Rotating day shifts, part-time up to 29 hours per week, with am/pm slots. A calm, energetic, and reliable attitude is essential; drivers with a valid NZ license are preferred as travel between clients may be required. Training provided.

Qualifications

• Prior personal care experience preferred.
• Experience with intellectual and physical disabilities advantageous.
• Highly organised and dependable.
• Energetic, physically fit and active.
• Self-motivated and reliable.
• Outgoing and positive in nature.
• Patient and encouraging.
• Happy to be active in the community.
• Familiarity with complex medical conditions (e.g., spinal injuries, TBI).
• Full driver’s license preferred; ability to drive independently and mobility van training available.
• Willingness to travel within Upper Hutt and rotating roster.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily living support as clients go about their tasks.
• Assist with complex personal care tasks.
• Support household management and meal preparation.
• Support participation in exercise programs.
• Facilitate community access and activities.
• Provide medication support where required.
• Ensure safety and well-being of service users.
