Job summary

Healthvision in Palmerston North is seeking compassionate Community Support Workers to assist a client with an intellectual disability and autism. This permanent part-time role offers rotating rosters, including morning and evening shifts and weekends, with meaningful, hands-on support.

You will work closely with service users to support daily tasks, personal care, household management, and community access while prioritising safety.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting people with autism, intellectual disabilities, or challenging behaviours is a plus.
• Patience, compassion, and strong interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to flexible schedules.
• A genuine passion for helping others.
• Supportive mindset to help Service Users achieve independent living goals.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily task support to service users in a community setting.
• Assist with complex personal cares and household management.
• Support exercise programmes and community access.
• Assist with bowel, bladder, catheter care, and safe transfers.
• Ensure safety and well-being of service users and maintain program documentation.
