Job summary

Hamilton City Libraries is seeking Ringa Hapaai Service Representatives to join our team at Te Kete Aronui Rotototuna Library. You will assist with issuing books, shelving, and helping visitors with technology in a friendly, inclusive environment.

Role involves running community programmes and events, supporting readers, and connecting people with resources. Part-time shifts are 19 hours weekly, mostly after school and weekends.

Qualifications

• Experienced in customer service with diverse community interactions.
• Interest in running children's programmes and events.
• Positive, welcoming personality; inclusive environment for all.
• Confident with computer use and cash handling.

Responsibilities

• Core library support: issuing books, searching titles, handling returns and shelving.
• Assist the public with using technology for learning, job hunting, and family connections.
• Run community programmes and events from story-time to coding classes; support Auaha Makerspace activities.
• Connect people with resources and recommendations for reading and information.
