Job summary

Auckland Council’s Library and Council Services team in Warkworth is seeking a friendly, community-minded individual for a part-time role (21 hours/week) including one weekend day. You will co-deliver programmes, assist customers with library and council enquiries, and help people navigate digital services in a welcoming environment.

This pro rata role offers a collaborative culture that values te reo Māori and tikanga, with benefits and opportunities to grow within Auckland Council’s library

Qualifications

• Customer-focused and friendly service orientation.
• Ability to work in a diverse community setting.
• Comfort with using digital tools and online services.

Responsibilities

• Deliver warm, informed customer support across library and particularly integrated council services enquiries
• Be part of a whānau environment, working together to achieve team goals
• Help customers build digital confidence and navigate online services
• Love working with tamariki and rangatahi and be happy to assist with programmes
• Support whānau to grow knowledge
• Contribute to safe, welcoming community library spaces
• A collaborative, continuously learning, self-motivated can‑do approach
• Confidence and creativity with technology and problem‑solving
• Calm, empathetic customer service skills
• Willingness to grow your tikanga and te reo Māori
• Ability to work across local board libraries if needed
• A people-focused work ethic, positive attitude and pride in your mahi
