Job summary

Sky New Zealand is seeking a Digital Platform Engineer to design, build, and maintain a scalable cloud-based platform powering Sky’s streaming services. The role focuses on robust Java applications and AWS-based solutions ensuring performance, reliability, and security.

You will work across products like Sky Box, Sky Pod, Sky Go, Neon, and ThreeNow, delivering features at velocity while maintaining observability and platform health. On-site at Mt Wellington, Auckland.

Qualifications

• Experience with Java and Spring Framework is required.
• Experience with NoSQL databases and AWS services.
• Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines and Git.
• Experience building RESTful JSON APIs and API design principles.
• Degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent practical knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Translate roadmap into robust technical solutions and scalable platform features.
• Design and Develop Services using Java, powering APIs that integrate with internal systems.
• Design, implement, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure components for scalability and security.
• Collaborate with teams to optimize performance, monitor systems, and troubleshoot issues.
• Contribute to Sky Digital Platform architecture to meet workload and performance requirements.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless digital experiences.
