Job summary

Air New Zealand is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with strong DevOps experience to join our DevOps Chapter. You will design scalable cloud infrastructure and platform services to empower product teams, lead CI/CD development, and champion automation and IaC practices across a multi-cloud stack.

You will collaborate with engineers, SREs, and security specialists to deliver secure, observable platforms and mentor others to grow in DevOps capabilities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software or platform engineering with microservices and cloud-native development.
• Strong interest in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Cloud Infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable cloud infrastructure and platform services.
• Lead CI/CD platform development across multiple applications.
• Champion automation and Infrastructure as Code to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Collaborate with software engineers, SREs, and security specialists to deliver secure, observable platforms.
• Mentor engineers to grow their DevOps and platform capabilities.
• Contribute to platform strategy, tooling decisions, and technical direction.
• Support platforms such as Kubernetes (EKS), ECS, API Gateway, and Kafka.
