Job summary

The HR Ally in Auckland, NZ seeks a seasoned Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate an enterprise-grade Internal Developer Platform (IDP). You will enable self-service developer workflows, golden paths, and seamless integration with enterprise DevOps toolchains to boost productivity, standardization, and governance.

Key responsibilities include Backstage development, CI/CD automation, microservices with Java Spring Boot, and ensuring platform reliability and observability.

Qualifications

• 8–15 years of overall software development experience.
• Hands-on with Backstage and TypeScript/Java Spring Boot.
• Proven platform engineering experience with DevOps integration.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and enhance Backstage Developer Portal and templates.
• Integrate Backstage with SCM, CI/CD, Kubernetes, security and monitoring tools.
• Develop backend services using Java Spring Boot and microservices.
• Drive self-service capabilities and developer experience improvements.
• Ensure platform scalability, reliability, and observability.
