Job summary

BNZ in Auckland seeks a Technical Specialist to own and evolve BNZ's cloud platforms on AWS and Azure. The role is hybrid with three days in the office and two days flexible, and focuses on building reliable, scalable services and enabling self-service capabilities for engineers.

You will implement IaC, CI/CD pipelines, GitOps tooling, automation, and strengthen security, monitoring, and performance. Collaboration with teams will drive faster, safer deployments and improved developer experience.

Qualifications

• Cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure) experience is required.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD and deployment automation.
• Scripting and automation skills in Python, PowerShell, and Bash.
• Observability, monitoring, and incident response skills essential.
• Networking and platform troubleshooting experience.

Responsibilities

• Build, operate, and improve core AWS and Azure platforms.
• Automate platform operations, provisioning, patching, and compliance.
• Solve complex platform reliability and performance challenges.
• Partner with engineering teams to improve platform adoption and self-service.
• Create platform standards, documentation, and engineering guidance.
• Drive security, reliability, automation, and developer experience improvements.
